Vale do Lobo is a prestigious private resort on the Algarve's southern coast, offering two outstanding golf courses cut through umbrella pines and clifftop terrain. The Royal Course's iconic par-3 over the ocean cliffs is one of the most photographed holes in European golf.
The Royal Course is Vale do Lobo's flagship layout, home to the famous clifftop 16th, one of the most photographed holes in Europe. Rocky Roquemore designed it from Sir Henry Cotton's original drawings, and it was inaugurated in 1997 as a par-72 challenge.
The Ocean Course grew out of two Sir Henry Cotton nines opened in 1968 and 1972, merged into a single par-73 course in 1995. Together with the Royal, it completes Vale do Lobo's 36 holes on the central Algarve coast.
