Where to stay to play Pine Cliffs: the three Luxury Collection hotels on the resort plus seven well-rated alternatives nearby, from about €50 a night, with drive times, breakfast hours and golf perks.
Pine Cliffs is one of the most scenic short courses in Europe: a 9-hole Martin Hawtree layout on the ochre clifftops of Olhos de Água, just east of Albufeira. Its most famous hole is the sixth, the Devil's Parlour, a par 3 that asks for a 197-metre carry over the edge of the cliffs.
So where should you stay to play it? This guide covers 10 of the best hotels near Pine Cliffs Golf Course: three inside Pine Cliffs Resort itself, a few minutes' walk or a short shuttle ride from the first tee, and seven well-rated alternatives nearby, from apartments at around €50 a night to five-star spa resorts.

Every hotel on this list is rated at least 8 out of 10 by guests on Booking.com and is within about 25 minutes of the course by car. Drive times are calculated by road to the golf clubhouse. Breakfast hours and golf services come from each hotel's own website wherever possible, and we only mention a golf perk if the hotel actually states it.
Prices are the lowest average nightly rates we found in October 2026, usually for the quietest month of the year (November to February). Spring, autumn and especially summer cost considerably more, so use them as a guide rather than a quote.
Staying on the resort puts the course on your doorstep and gets you lower green fees than visitors pay (see the price table further down). The resort has 12 restaurants, the Serenity Spa and the Porto Pirata kids' club for children aged 1 to 8. Two things to know: Pine Cliffs charges a facility fee on all bookings, which covers resort parking and the internal shuttle, and breakfast is a supplement of €36 per adult unless it is included in your rate.
Besides the three Luxury Collection properties below, the resort also rents Pine Cliffs Gardens, Pine Cliffs Suites and Pine Cliffs Village apartments and townhouses through its own website. Pine Cliffs Suites overlooks the golf course.
The resort itself calls this "the best option for golfers and their families": spacious apartments close to the Clubhouse and overlooking the course, so you can walk to your tee time. With two- and three-bedroom apartments, it works especially well for a family or a small group of golfers sharing.
The resort's original five-star hotel, with rooms a five-minute stroll from Praia da Falésia. The concierge can arrange tee times and transfers, and in our research it was the cheapest of the three Luxury Collection properties, a good fit if you only need a room rather than an apartment.
Suites and apartments in the same building as the award-winning Serenity Spa, with free access to its Oasis Thermal area. All rooms interconnect, which makes it popular with families. A good choice if a round on Pine Cliffs is one part of a holiday where the spa matters as much as the golf.
The closest good-value option to Pine Cliffs: the hotel says it is just 200 metres from the golf course, and by road it is a 7-minute drive to the clubhouse. One- and two-bedroom apartments, several pools, a kids' club and a free transfer to the beach make it a smart base for families or golfers on a budget.
A self-catering resort with its own 9-hole executive course (Balaia), plus a practice range and golf academy, 10 minutes from Pine Cliffs. Its "Algarve Golf Break" package includes two rounds at Balaia. Ideal for a short-game holiday: play Balaia in the morning, and the Devil's Parlour in the afternoon.
A large five-star resort on Santa Eulália beach that can be surprisingly affordable out of season. The concierge sells green fees for local courses, breakfast starts at 7.30am and the 1,000 m² thalassotherapy spa is ideal for tired legs after a round.
The highest-rated hotel on this list (9.2 on Booking.com) sits on the clifftop just west of the resort, a 7-minute drive from the clubhouse. Formerly TUI Blue Falésia, it is not adults-only, but it has a lounge area reserved for adults and a calm, couple-friendly feel. Note that its sister hotel next door, PortoBay Falésia, is closed for refurbishment until May 2027.
A practical four-star in Albufeira itself, for golfers who want restaurants and nightlife on the doorstep in the evening. Breakfast is served from 7am, so an early tee time at Pine Cliffs, 17 minutes away, is easy. There is a spa with a heated indoor pool for the cooler months.
A five-star resort above Falésia beach, just east of Pine Cliffs and 9 minutes from the clubhouse by car. The hotel offers special green fees at various Algarve golf courses, breakfast runs from 7am to 11am, and there is a large 1,500 m² spa. Rated 9.0 by Booking.com guests.
The best pick for golfers who want to play more than Pine Cliffs. This lakeside resort in Vilamoura has a dedicated golf concierge that arranges tee times, transfers and instructors, offers free shuttles to nearby golf courses and runs lessons with the Vilamoura Golf Academy. Pine Cliffs is around 26 minutes away by car.
Pine Cliffs is open to visitors as well as resort guests, and guests pay less. On the resort's 2025/26 price list, 9 holes cost visitors €57 in low season and €76 in high season, and 18 holes (the loop played twice) cost €80 and €99. Resort guests pay €53 and €64 for 9 holes, and €74 and €88 for 18. Low season runs from late November to January and from June to mid-September; the rest of the year is high season.
This price list runs until 31 October 2026, so check the resort's website for the new season's prices. The first tee time is 8am and the last is 5.20pm, and you can book online through the resort's website. Club sets can be hired from €30 for 9 holes, and players without a handicap must play from the red tees.
Book your tee time in advance. With only nine holes and plenty of resort guests, Pine Cliffs can fill up, especially in spring and autumn. If you are staying on the resort, ask the concierge.
Combine it with other courses. The resort allows two hours for a nine-hole round, so it pairs well with a second course on the same trip. Balaia is 10 minutes away, and the Vilamoura courses such as the Old Course are around 20 minutes east. Not sure which short course suits you? Read our comparison Balaia vs Pine Cliffs.
Getting there. Faro Airport is about 40 km away, roughly 45 minutes to an hour by car. If you stay outside the resort, a hire car makes it easy to reach the course and the rest of the Algarve.
