Where to stay to play Morgado and Alamos near Portimão: the NAU Morgado resort hotel beside both first tees, plus the best options in Penina, Portimão, Ferragudo and Alvor, with drive times, golf perks and green fees.
The NAU Morgado Golf & Country Club, in a quiet valley a few kilometres north of Portimão, has two 18-hole courses by Russell Talley of European Golf Design. Morgado is the longer par 73, inspired by links golf with wide fairways, deep pot bunkers and big undulating greens, while Alamos is a tighter par 71 with views across a reservoir to the Serra de Monchique. Both share the same practice complex, with two practice tees, two chipping greens, two putting greens and a golf academy.
The resort has its own hotel right beside the courses. Beyond that, the countryside around it is empty, so every other good option is 18 to 26 minutes away in Penina, Portimão, Ferragudo or Alvor. This guide covers the best hotels near Morgado and Alamos golf in each of those places.

We include a hotel if it is rated at least 8 out of 10 on Booking.com, or at least 7.8 if it offers specific golf services. We normally only list places within about 15 minutes of the course, but apart from the resort hotel there is nothing well rated that close, so we have included the best hotels within about 25 minutes. Drive times are calculated by road to the clubhouse, not in a straight line.
Prices are the lowest nightly rates we found on the hotel's own website or a price-comparison site in October 2026, so treat them as a guide. Check current rates with the link.
