Where to stay to play Vale do Lobo's Royal and Ocean courses: the resort's own villas and the Dona Filipa Hotel, plus six well-rated hotels within 15 minutes, with drive times, breakfast hours and golf perks.
Vale do Lobo is one of the most famous golf resorts in Europe, with two 18-hole courses side by side on the coast near Almancil. The Royal Course is home to the clifftop par-3 16th, one of the most photographed holes in Europe, while the Ocean Course grew out of Sir Henry Cotton's original layouts from 1968 and 1972. Both start from the same Golf Club.
This guide covers the best places to stay near Vale do Lobo golf: two options inside the resort itself and six well-rated hotels within about 15 minutes, in neighbouring Quinta do Lago, Garrão and Quarteira.

We include a hotel if it is rated at least 8 out of 10 on Booking.com, or at least 7.8 if it offers specific golf services, and is within about 15 minutes of the Golf Club by road. Drive times are calculated by road, not in a straight line. Breakfast hours and golf services come from each hotel's own website wherever possible, and we only mention a golf perk if the hotel actually states it.
Prices are the lowest nightly rates we could reliably find in October 2026. Where we could not find a trustworthy figure, we have left the price out rather than guess, so check current rates with the link.

Its own shuttle to San Lorenzo will matter less for a while, as that course is closed for renovation from 19 October 2026 until mid-2028. Guest scores sit just under 8 out of 10, but for location it is hard to beat.
